Song Lyrics

"Nameless Places"

by Sandra McCracken
Album: The Crucible

I haven't slept but I'm not tired
It's 4AM, a moonless night is alive
My head is clear, the morning is fresh
It's good to be awake like this

It feels like its been light for years
Eyes wide to the dark of this hotel room
And an open window above a parking lot
Prolific motion I forgot

Nameless places, they are all the same
Nameless faces I will not remember
You are on my mind again, with poetry and rhyme,
Its As if you're still here with me after all this time

It's been a while since I recall
Now I'm flooded and miles away
A sleeping beauty in my heart concealed
Awakens now to the kiss of the wind

Nameless places, they are all the same
Nameless faces I will not remember
You are on my mind again, with poetry and rhyme
Its as if you're still here with me after all this time

'Cause I'd give the world to be home tonight
But the road is long and it pulls me away
I miss you deep and there's no release from this steady ache

Nameless places, it never seems to end
Nameless faces when all I want is you
